The official trailer has been revealed for Dust To Dreams, a short film written and directed by Idris Elba and starring Seal. Exclusively published by The Hollywood Reporter on Friday morning (Feb. 28), the preview gives audiences a glimpse at the passionate story behind the Nigerian-based project. As written in the YouTube caption, the official description reads as follows:
In Lagos’ pulsating heart, a dying nightclub owner entrusts her legacy to her shy daughter. A long-lost soldier father ignites family drama, but music becomes their redemption. A soulful duet heals them all, uniting the family and breathing life back into the legendary club.
Alongside Seal, Dust To Dreams stars Nollywood talent Nse Ukpe-Etim, Eku Edewor, Atlanta Bridget Johnson, and Constance Olatunde.

“This film was the most collaborative process from the production to the actors and musicians. This film was made because family matters and love doesn’t die,” relayed Elba to THR of Dust To Dreams.
In March 2024, Deadline exclusively reported that the film was a collaboration between Mo Abudu’s EbonyLife Films and African Export Import Bank (Afreximbank) through the Creative Africa Nexus (Canex). Mo Abudu will serve as both executive producer and producer, with Heidi Uys as supervising producer. Temidayo Makanjuola, Inem King, and Vanessa Demme are also credited as producers.
