Sexyy Red claims she’s the “most hated female rapper” and thinks record labels are to blame.
During a recent conversation with legendary radio host Big Boy, the 26-year-old spoke about her haters and shady tension that led to this notion.
“I feel like I’m the most hated female rapper. Like, they hate on me the most. I get a lot of love, but I know when they be hating on me. They be hating on me. It be like little inside s**t,” Sexyy shared around 27-minute mark.
The “SkeeYee” rapper continued, “They trying to put me down. I be feeling like, ‘Is y’all sending people to comment under here?’ I feel like it’s some hidden agendas… It could be labels. I just be feeling muthaf**kers be tryna bring me [down]. Like they don’t like seeing me win and I be seeing people say that in the comments. Like ‘Why do y’all hate her so much? She just be chillin’.”
Big Boy agreed, recalling the first moment he “fell in love” with her as an artist. He also used that sentiment to explain that sometimes people hate just for the sake of hating.
“There are people that’ll hear a song and sometimes, people don’t even listen to everything. They’ll look at something and they’ll hate it,” said the 55-year-old. “They’ll look at the packaging and they’ll hate it… So, with society, we hate first sometimes, but when I saw [you on The Shop], how can you not f**k with her?”
Sexyy — who’s received backlash over her controversially explicit lyrics and self-proclaimed “ratchet” personality — doesn’t understand the criticism either because she considers herself to be a good person. However, don’t test her.
“I’m not even an evil-hearted person, so why would you wanna do me like that?… I will beat the f**k outta you, but don’t bring that outta me,” she quipped. Watch the full interview above.
