Skai Jackson filed a restraining order against the father of her son, Kasai.
TMZ reported that the 23-year-old actress accused her ex-boyfriend, Deondre Burgin, of assaulting her on Mother’s Day while she was holding their three-month-old child. Court documents read that Burgin allegedly slammed Jackson’s head against a car window and punched her in the face.
She also claimed Burgin frequently assaulted her — choking and scratching her as well as slamming her head against a wall — specifically during a six-month period in 2024. During the alleged attacks, Jackson said that her property, including a television and iPhone, were also destroyed.
Burgin allegedly demanded the former child star to drink bleach during her pregnancy to get her to miscarry. Jackson claimed that he threatened to stab her in the stomach if she yelled for help. He also allegedly held her at knifepoint and “choked me until I could not breathe” after forcibly entering a bathroom that she was in. She reportedly has video evidence to corroborate the claim.
Jackson is asking Burgin to attend a court-mandated domestic violence treatment program, and requested a judge to order him to pay child support and her legal fees.
Last month, Burgin was arrested in Kentucky on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant from Ohio. When Kasai was born, he was serving a 90-day jail sentence for parole violation.
TMZ confirmed that he was detained for failing to display a license plate on his vehicle and then failing to show up for his court date.
Jackson’s temporary restraining order request was granted, and the next court hearing has been scheduled for June 9.
