Slikour Fulfills His Father’s Last Wish By Championing Up-and-coming Artist Musical Majur. In a touching tribute to his late father, South African music icon Slikour has officially returned to the music scene—not as a frontman, but as a mentor, collaborator, and champion for the next generation.

Slikour Fulfills His Father’s Last Wish By Championing Up-and-coming Artist Musical Majur

Marking one year since his father’s passing on June 23rd, Slikour revealed that his father’s final words urged him to make music again and guide young artists. That calling has now taken form in the development of rising talent Musical Majur.

“Today is a good day. Around music, my heart gets filled with joy. Wonder if Daddio knew me more than I know myself,” Slikour shared in a heartfelt social media post. With a spark of divine timing, the content rollout for Majur officially launched on the same day—June 23, 2025.

Musical Majur, who first captured attention through a series of viral freestyle videos, has now signed with SOL Distro. Under Slikour’s guidance, the team is transforming those freestyle moments into fully-fledged songs—a challenging yet exciting mission, given Majur’s already devoted following.

“Through divine intervention, he signed with @soldistro, trusted us with remaking his viral freestyles to songs – a tough task considering how many people his reached already,” said Slikour, noting the organic growth and expectations surrounding the artist.

The move also marks Slikour’s first proactive project contribution since Kwesta’s seminal “Special Rekwest” album in 2009, adding weight to what many are already calling a monumental comeback, not for himself, but for the culture.

The project brings together a remarkable team of creatives, including engineering wizard Big Dreamz, and a lineup of SOL Distro collaborators and artists such as Keeme Molapo, Nino Fresko, Convey Live, Nostalgic Legend, and Kallo Music. And yes—fan-favourite Touchline is confirmed to be featured, though Slikour is keeping the rest of the guest list under wraps… for now.

With excitement and purpose laced into every word, Slikour ends his note with a cheeky disclaimer:
“The music must be good mara ne… please no chancers.” 😂

As Slikour steps back into the music space, not for glory but for guidance, it’s clear his father’s last wish has not only been heard, but it’s already changing lives.
