IShowSpeed thought he met one of the most popular rappers ever this weekend and had to snap a selfie to celebrate the moment. Unfortunately, the man in the photo was not Snoop Dogg, and the Long Beach, Calif., rapper got a great laugh out of the moment.
The popular streamer attended the Fatal Fury boxing event in NYC’s Times Square on Friday (May 2) and ran into a man who looked like the “Drop It Like It’s Hot” rapper. Footage surfaced of the man sitting next to him, taking a photo, having a brief conversation, and then parting ways. Given Speed’s hilarious mistake, the video went viral and eventually made its way to Snoop’s timeline.
The 53-year-old rapper reshared the post and wrote “Almost” with multiple laughing emojis. The comments were loaded with laughs from several users and a few funny quips. “Unc he starting look like you more than you,” one fan wrote. “Damn, that means u gota meet him for real Snoop,” another fan wrote. One person called out who the impersonator was, an actor named Eric Finch, who is known for being a Snoop look-alike and even shot a Corona commercial with the legendary rapper once. Snoop Dogg and Death Row Records recently shared their gospel compilation album Altar Call, which was dedicated to his late mother, Beverly Tate. Jamie Foxx, Jazze Pha, October London, John P. Kee, and Charlie Bereal appeared on the 21-song project, among many other artists.
“The spirit of my mother will forever live within me. This album is a reflection of what she has taught me to use my voice and my platform to spread love and heal the world. Just another chapter out of the ‘Bible of Love,’” he told Okayplayer, labeling the album the sequel to his 2018 LP, Bible Of Love.
