Over the weekend, Cori Broadus and her fiancé Wayne Deuce officially stepped into parenthood.
Snoop Dogg’s only daughter shared the news on Instagram that she gave birth to a baby girl. However, the little one arrived three months earlier than expected.
“The princess arrived at 6 months,” Cori revealed in her caption, alongside a heartwarming black-and-white photo of her newborn’s tiny foot. The early arrival brought a wave of emotions for the new mom, who admitted she initially struggled with self-doubt.
“I’ve cried and cried, I’ve compared and compared, blaming myself because I wasn’t able to give her all that she needed,” she emotionally wrote. “But no matter what, God always shows me that He got me! Baby girl came at 25 weeks today and she’s the best!! Thank You God for getting me this far #nicubaby #25weeks.”
Cori opted to disable the comments on her post.
Ahead of the joyous moment, the 25-year-old shared the complications and challenges she faced during her pregnancy. In a few since-deleted Instagram Stories, Cori revealed that she was diagnosed with HELLP syndrome: a rare and life-threatening pregnancy complication.
According to the Preeclampsia Foundation, HELLP syndrome stands for Hemolysis (the breaking down of red blood cells), Elevated Liver Enzyme Levels, and Low Platelet Levels, which most commonly occurs in the third trimester. It can also develop during or after childbirth. Cori urged her female followers to be in tune with their bodies on TikTok.
“Please listen to your bodies. Don’t believe everything you see on TIKTOK (talking to myself lowkey),” she advised.
This isn’t the first major health scare Cori has faced. In January 2024, she suffered a stroke.
“I was celebrating at a party, and then the next day, I’m in the hospital,” she recalled. “I think it really scared everyone… You know, a stroke is no joke. It brought me and my family closer, [realizing] that anything can happen in the snap of a finger.”
Now, a year later, Cori is celebrating life in a whole new way, welcoming her beautiful baby girl into the world. Congratulations to Cori and Wayne!
