Stilo Magolide Opens Up About His Hesitation To Collaborate With DJ Maphorisa. In an industry where collaborations often spark major hits and define eras, Stilo Magolide is treading carefully when it comes to working with DJ Maphorisa. The rapper and fashion-forward artist recently shared his thoughts on why he’s hesitant to lock in a joint with the Amapiano and Afrobeat heavyweight, despite having immense respect for him.

“I’ve always got love and respect for Phori,” Stilo admitted during an interview on Choppin’ It Podcast, “but I always tell Phori that I’m scared to do a joint with you because if I do a joint with you, I have to come back and do another one with you.”

According to Stilo Magolide, working with Maphorisa is more than just stepping into the studio and laying down a hit. It’s a high-stakes energy exchange that can leave an artist feeling creatively dependent.

“The cost of doing joints with you is too expensive from a creative and energy perspective for me,” Stilo explained. “Nobody does a joint with you and continues to have a career without coming back to you.”

It’s a bold statement, but one that highlights Maphorisa’s undeniable ability to tap into an artist’s potential and unlock what Stilo refers to as the “money pocket.”

“He’s good at finding your money pocket,” he added. “And after you leave DJ Maphorisa, you don’t know where your money pocket is.”

For Stilo, it’s not about avoiding greatness—it’s about guarding his creative freedom. His comments shed light on the influence Maphorisa has, not just as a producer but as a visionary who knows exactly where an artist can strike gold. However, once that pocket is found, some might find it difficult to navigate the industry without returning to the man who helped them discover it.
