Now I Choose To Be Called First Lady

Now I choose to be called first lady -Aisha Buhari

The wife of the President, Aisha Buhari, says Nigerians can now address her as first lady. Recall that when her husband assumed office for his first term in 2015, Mrs Buhari released a statement saying she wouldn’t want to be addressed as first lady but as wife of the President.

Well, it appears she has had a change of heart. While speaking at the presentation of awards to the former and current wives of Governors of the 36 states at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja yesterday Thursday June 13th, Mrs Buhari said her decision to accept the title of first lady was in order to resolve the issue of the title of wives of governors.

“When my husband was newly elected, I personally chose to be called the wife of the President. But, I realised that it causes confusion from the state as to whether the wives of state governors are to be addressed as the first ladies or wives of the governors. So, forgive me for confusing you from the beginning, but now I chose to be called the first lady,” she said

June 9, 2019 Kylie Jenner Called Out For Throwing “Handmaid’s Tale” Costume party

Kylie Jenner Called Out For Throwing “Handmaid’s Tale” Costume party

Insert face to palm emoji.

For the past few weeks, Kylie Jenner was catching all kinds of heat for her Kylie Skin debut since people called her out for not being authentically vegan, using a filter in her tutorials and selling a walnut scrub – something that’s big no-no. More recently, Kylie threw a birthday party for her friend Anastasia “Stassie” Karanikolaou and now people are coming at her again since it’s the theme is based on The Handmaiden Tale.

While Kylie seems all kinds of happy in the clips she posted on Instagram, people were quick to remind her that the show touches on rape and oppression of women. “I honestly believe Kylie Jenner did NOT understand The Handmaids Tale if she’s throwing a themed party about it,” one user wrote

Another user added: “Kylie Jenner is having a party themed after the Handmaid’s Tale…..so…..who’s gonna tell her that her party is literally celebrating female enslavement for their biological reproduction?? WHO IS GOING TO TELL HER.”

Kylie has yet to respond to the backlash, something we think she’ll opt out of doing. Peep more reactions below in the meantime.

Andre Iguodala Confesses That He Hates Being Called “Iggy”

It took a while for Iguodala to embrace his nickname.

When you become a significant player in the NBA, you’re usually graced with a nickname that ends up defining you for the rest of your career. The problem with nicknames is that you typically don’t get to choose your own. Instead, it’s your peers that will decide what your moniker is going to be. If you’re an Andre Iguodala fan, you’re well aware of the fact that he’s referred to as “Iggy” around the league. While “Iggy” has followed him around for a long time now, it hasn’t stopped him from hating when people call him that.

In a new interview with Marc Stein of The New York Times, Iguodala explains how he hated the nickname for a long time but has gotten used to it over time. The Warriors player compares the name to his role as the sixth man on Golden State and how he had to gradually embrace that role.

“I was always like, ‘Stop calling me that,’” Iguodala said, “I don’t hate it as much as I used to — I don’t mind if people who know me call me Iggy. You just learn to embrace it.”

Iguodala has won three NBA championships with the Warriors and even won Finals MVP back in 2015 thanks to his staunch defense against LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers.
