  • As the new year dawned, parts of the United States, especially Los Angeles, were thrust into an unimaginable nightmare—one that seemed like something out of a disaster film, but with the full weight of reality.
  • An out-of-control wildfire, fierce and relentless, has ravaged vast swaths of the region, leaving behind destruction and a sense of dread that no one saw coming. For Korra Obidi, the situation took a terrifying turn when she found herself caught in the crosshairs of nature’s fury.
  • Amid more impending smoke and chaos, Korra captured the deeply emotional and dramatic moment she was forced to flee her luxurious Los Angeles home, her children in tow.

US-based Nigerian dancer and singer, Korra Obidi, is no stranger to the spotlight, but nothing could prepare her for the terrifying, life-altering experience she faced when a monstrous wildfire ravaged the heart of Los Angeles, where she resides in her newly purchased mansion.

Fueled by strong winds and dry conditions, wildfires erupted in Los Angeles earlier this week, causing widespread panic and destruction.

Homes were consumed by flames, and the death toll rises as emergency teams battle the blaze. Many residents evacuated, fleeing to nearby neighborhoods for safety.

Among those feeling the weight of the terror was Korra Obidi, who took to her Facebook page to capture the panic and despair of the moment.

In her post, Korra revealed how the emergency team’s warning sparked both fear and a sliver of hope. She said while the team worked tirelessly to battle the blaze, they warned of more to come.

In a desperate attempt not to take chances, to protect her children and herself from the chaos engulfing the city, Korra documented the painful decision to pack up and evacuate her home.

Korra Obidi gathered her belongings, secured the essentials, and without a moment’s hesitation, set off with her two daughters to her godmother’s house, she claimed is situated far away from the impending disaster, where she hoped the flames wouldn’t follow.
