Teyana Taylor, Leonardo Dicaprio Discuss New Film At CinemaCon 2025

Teyana Taylor is officially part of the major leagues as the actress, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Regina Hall unveiled the trailer for their new film, One Battle After Another at CinemaCon 2025.

Held in Las Vegas on Tuesday (April 1), the trio shared new details about the film during Warner Bros.’ “The Big Picture” panel presentation. The film, which is loosely based on Thomas Pynchon’s 1990 novel Vineland, is described as a “satirical black comedy action film” and centers around a group of ex-revolutionaries who reunite after 16 years to save one of their own’s daughter after an old nemesis reemerges .

DiCaprio teased that One Battle After Another is “an incredibly epic movie and has such scope and scale,” and praised the film’s director-writer-producer Paul Thomas Anderson as a “master,” in part, for allowing them to improvise. The Oscar winner also said about Anderson, “He tapped into something politically and culturally that is right beneath our psyche.”

Per People, the veteran actor expressed, “A lot of writer-directors are incredibly rigid, but his ability to work with actors is so unique,” later saying it was an “honor” to work with Anderson especially considering he’s wanted to do just that for the past two decades. Hall described the movie as “humorous, funny, but it’s also heartfelt,” noting that, “To be able to spar alongside anyone, especially these two, is amazing.”

Taylor is eager for audiences to meet her unlikeable character. The A Thousand And One actress explained per Deadline, “She’s a mess… she loves hard and betrays hard. She has a lot going on. People mean well, but she is a situation-ship. She’s an egg, scrambled eggs. She’s tough on the outside. She’s always in survival mode and she’s selfish.”

DiCaprio plays Bob Ferguson, who is enlisting the help of Taylor, Hall, Sean Penn, and more to find his daughter (played by Chase Infiniti).

One Battle After Another is slated to premiere in theaters on Sept. 26.
