Teyana Taylor Teases Musical Return With Help From Aaron Pierre

Teyana Taylor officially ended her musical hiatus. The R&B singer released the trailer for an upcoming visual album, Escape Room, with the help of two actors to portray a vivid story. As it stands, Escape Room, due for an August 2025 drop, is set to be the 34-year-old’s first full-album release since 2020’s The Album.

In the beginning clip, the Harlem native and actor LaKeith Stanfield appear to happily exchange vows in a wedding ceremony. She wears a floral lace gown with a lengthy train while he is dressed in denim, a crisp blouse, and a cropped jacket. Their emotional “I do’s” are followed by depictions of the couple in unsavory circumstances that mirror extreme escape room simulations.

Pierre’s character steps in as Taylor’s romantic interest with a steamy makeout session. With eye-catching imagery, the singer stands on fire, becomes an experiment, and runs away frantically before the clip ends with Pierre pointing a gun in her direction.

The trailer comes as Teyana Taylor and Aaron Pierre sparked dating rumors since the A Thousand And One star divorced from Iman Shumpert. In March, the “Gonna Love Me” performer uploaded photos of herself and the movie star at the 2025 Oscars and Vanity Fair afterparty to her social media account and exclaimed, “Oscar night in black & white, no grey area.”

In April, Taylor wore a metallic gold waist chain with the letter “A” to Coachella, which many suspected to be a nod to Aaron Pierre.

Last month, Shumpert accused his ex-wife of violating the terms of their finalized divorce agreement and is asking the court to consider 20 days of jail time and a $1,000 fine for his ex-wife over the alleged breaches. He also alleged she insulted him in front of their daughters, Junie, 9, and Rue, 4.
