We haven’t heard from our firm indie favourites The Plastics in about three years but they’ve just dropped an infectious summer groove titled “Crazy Love” and it’s like they never left.
Their signature sound pours through from the first bar. Jangling electric guitar rubs shoulders with a groove-laden bass hook and a pillowy beat drives things forward. It’s vibrant and effervescent – a delightful ode to love turning your world upside down, in the best of ways.
It’s replete in feathery synth arrangements, exercising just the right amount of restraint in lulling moments, and countered visceral lyrics play out a swoon worthy type of hedonistic bliss – “This crazy love warps my perception/ transforming shades of grey to ultraviolet rays”
This is The Plastics as we know and love them but it’s also The Plastics fresh AF.
