Tiffany Haddish admitted that she used to go on dates for free food when she was struggling financially.
The Girls Trip actress posed the question on Instagram Live earlier this week, “Do you know how horrible it is to go on a date with a guy because you need a meal?”
Haddish confessed, “I don’t even want to be nice to this person or get to know him. I’m hungry.” The conversation stemmed from someone telling her that she “cares too much” about others.
“I guess that’s ’cause I feel like nobody cared about me when I didn’t have. I was just tryna figure it out,” the 45-year-old explained.
She went on to express her stance on food inflation and how it might lead to “a lot more thinner people” or a rise of malnourished people and bartering.
“We’re about to learn how amazing the human body can be when you don’t eat,” she said. “Or, we’re just gonna have more [malnourished] people because they’ll be eating stuff out of packages and things that aren’t good for you.”
Haddish continued, “They’ll be bigger and heavier, but more malnourished. Or maybe all these fast food places will go out of business and people will start being like, ‘Look I’ll trade you these peaches for your linen.” She noted that she’s already started bartering honey she’s harvested for eggs.
Back in January, the comedian showed how her money management skills have “improved” over the past decade. “We have had our ups and downs over the years, But We are growing and are stronger than ever,” she captioned a video of her making out with a $100 bill.
In the footage, she exclaimed repeatedly, “New money is good,” and begged the money to never leave her.
