She then posed a rhetorical question to her followers, asking if that was the kind of success they truly desired. Gbemi Olateru Olagbegi tweeted:

“If you want to be rich and famous quickly in this country, you have to lose your home training/shame/morals. Is that the kind you want though?”

Her statement resonated with many social media users, who flooded the comment section agreeing with her take. Some noted that Nigeria’s system seems to reward controversial and morally questionable behavior, while others joked about embracing the trend.

This comes amid controversy trailing a 40-minute leaked audio recording on February 27, 2025, in which socialite Sophia Egbueje detailed her grievances to a friend. She claims that in 2024, her friend Ama Reginald and Burna Boy’s associate King Manny persuaded her to meet the singer.

Initially reluctant, Sophia was swayed by Burna Boy’s reputation for generosity—such as gifting his ex-girlfriend Stefflon Don a Rolls Royce Cullinan valued at around $500,000.

Sophia alleged that Burna Boy made several promises, including buying her a Lamborghini, but eventually ghosted her and failed to fulfill his promises.
