Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has brought attention to a new scam method that is targeting individuals in public.

Through her Instagram page, she cautioned the public to be aware of a specific scenario that scammers are using to deceive people.

According to Tonto Dikeh, the scam involves someone approaching a person in a public place, falsely accusing them of making a fake transfer for a purchase.

Tonto emphasized the potential consequences of falling victim to this scam, including embarrassment, wasted time, loss of property, or even physical harm.

She urged people to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety in public.

She wrote:

New scam alert!

Beware: Someone could approach you in public, crying and wailing, accusing you of making a fake transfer for something you allegedly bought. A crowd gathers, tensions rise, and you’re forced to either pay up or rush facing jungle justice.

Now imagine the embarrassment, wasted time, potential property loss, or even harm to yourself before any help arrives.
Stay vigilant and stay safe because outside is wild these days”.

In another news, Tonto Dikeh opens up on how 2024 has been my most transformative year.

Sharing her thoughts with her fans and followers, the mother of one described the past year as the most transformative of her adult life.
