Tory Lanez is gearing up to drop his next studio album, taking to social media Tuesday (March 4) to reveal the work’s title, cover art, and release date.
Lanez has shared that the new album title is taken from his surname, Peterson, and will be a sequel to his 2020 album, Daystar, which is his first name. The accompanying cover art features a shirtless snap of the Canadian artist, seemingly from prison, where he’s serving a 10-year sentence over the shooting of Megan Thee Stallion.
“Dear 2025 … This COMEBACK is PERSONAL, ALBUM NAME – PETERSON, SEQUEL OF – DAYSTAR,” he announced, revealing its release date as this Friday, March 7. Check out the post below.
The announcement follows Lanez going off on fellow Canadian crooner PartyNextDoor over a diss track issued by the Some Sexy Songs 4 U artist, where he sang, “F**k what Tory Lanez say, you know the B, I’m running that/ I did everything he did, oh he’s just a running man […] You said I sound like Young Thug, you know you sound like me […] One day, you’ll be me.”
This was a reply to Lanez’s initial comments, where he said, “PARTYNEXTDOOR showed his best work of 2025, Drake showed his best work of 2025, The Weeknd showed his best work of 2025. Now it’s time for me to come out.”
After realizing that no offense was meant, PND apologized, but Lanez wasn’t having it. Rather than let it go, he offered to fight Party, asking his fans whether or not he should catch the “fade” with him. Check out the response below.
