Tracee Ellis Ross has a film in the works. According to Deadline, the 52-year-old is set to star in Blow The Horn, a psychological drama from writer-director Nacho Arenas. Ross is also a producer on the indie film currently in production in New York.
The outlet reports Blow The Horn is an adaptation of Bajo Terapia, an acclaimed Argentinian play by Matias del Federico. Spanish filmmaker Gerardo Herrero has previously adapted the work for a 2023 comedic film. Bajo Terapia translates to Under Therapy.
The film reportedly takes place in contemporary New York. Its story follows three couples participating in a group therapy session with their psychologist, where personal secrets and simmering tensions are exposed. The plot turns strange when the hotshot therapist unexpectedly fails to show up, leaving the couples to confront their issues without his professional guidance.

“I was immediately captivated by Matias’ play the moment I read it and adapting it for the screen was both exciting and daunting,” Arenas shared with Deadline. “I aspire to tell entertaining and artful stories grounded in truth, and this incredibly talented cast is bringing it to life in ways I could only dream of.”
Arenas also produces the film for Planeo Films with Jamin O’Brien producing for The Film Community. Ross’ most recent films are 2023’s Cold Copy, Candy Cane Lane, and the acclaimed American Fiction.
