Tracy Morgan is thanking fans for their concern after the comedian was seen vomiting courtside at a Knicks game in New York City Monday (March 17) night.
Morgan, 56, took to his Instagram account Tuesday (March 18) to give his followers a health update, saying that his physicians informed him that food poisoning was the reason he lost his lunch in Madison Square Garden.
“Thank you for all your concern! I’m doing ok now and doctors say it was food poisoning,” Morgan revealed. “Appreciate my MSG family for taking such good care of me and I need to shout out the crew that had to clean that up. Appreciate you!”
The funny man then cracked a joke about the Knicks at his own expense, writing, “More importantly, the Knicks are now 1-0 when I throw up on the court so maybe I’ll have to break it out again in the playoffs,” followed by a laughter emoji and #goknicks.
The incident, which happened during the 3rd quarter of the New York Knicks-vs-Miami Heat bout, led to the game being stopped as Morgan was wheeled out of the arena while pressing a towel to his mouth. Play was paused for about 10 minutes as MSG staffers cleaned up the courtside mess.
“We hope Tracy feels better soon and look forward to seeing him back courtside,” a Madison Square Garden representative told PEOPLE following the incident.
Games at Madison Square Garden have definitely been eventful lately — and not just on the court — as Jennifer Hudson was recently the target of a stray ball being chased down by Knicks guard Miles “Deuce” McBride. While boyfriend Common attempted to protect her, McBride collided with the talk show host, who was visibly taken aback by the interaction. Check it out below.
