Tyler, The Creator, has issued a sneak peek at the music video for “Sticky.” On Friday (Jan. 31), the California native released the teaser, with visuals matching his latest album, Chromakopia, and the aesthetic language that was crafted for the work. The only message that arrived alongside the video was an adamant statement declaring that a full video “will come.”
The meticulously crafted teaser is colored in that same Black and white gradient, with the Grammy-winning musician donning the mask and hairstyle that has become synonymous with his latest LP. Much like the song, a marching band is present in the preview, with a heavy sports motif serving as the foundation for the vision.
Shots include Tyler, the Creator giving his best Muhammad Ali impression with the artist wearing boxing shorts, the 33-year-old dressed as a trumpeter, appearances from his day one friends, Jasper and Taco, and even a football team huddling up with one of the athletes whistling a note from the infectious cut. But that last bit of visual information set the internet on fire with speculation.
As Kendrick Lamar‘s Super Bowl LIX performance quickly approaches, fans have speculated that Tyler would be joining the acclaimed emcee in New Orleans for the Halftime Show. Netizens have pointed to K. Dot’s latest SB commercial, where he walks along a massive football field, as a potential Easter egg connected to the marching band and football team in the “Sticky” video.
“Tyler is definitely a surprise guest at the Super Bowl…the black and white, the marching, yeah we’re getting a top 3 greatest halftime show of all time,” a fan speculated on X/Twitter.
However, Tyler finally doused the flames of the rumor and or speculation that he would be a guest performer at the big game, typing, “Ni**a im on tour I will not be at football game yall better watch Kenny.”
All will be revealed at Super Bowl LIX, which is set for Sunday (Feb. 9).
