Usher made a sweet visit to his daughter’s classroom, giving her schoolmates a once-in-a-lifetime dance lesson.
Along with his wife Jennifer Goicoechea, the R&B singer sat among an excited group of preschool children explaining their respective careers. Their daughter, 4-year-old Sovereign Bo, sat proudly in between her parents.
“Parent-teacher day, here we go,” whispered the “Burn” performer to the camera before entering the classroom in a clip shared to TikTok.
Goicoechea spoke first, detailing, “[I’m] Sove’s mommy, Jen, I help artists, entertainers, make music, put on shows, do videos, and do a whole bunch of stuff. Today, I came here to introduce daddy as an entertainer.”
The 46-year-old then spoke to the children detailing, “Sove gets to call me daddy, but the rest of the world knows me as Usher.”

He continued to explain where he drew inspiration for one of his dance moves before breaking down the choreography for the toddlers.
“Have any of you seen Wreck-It Ralph?” he questions. “You know a character by the name of Vanellope? Vanellope also has another name. Does anybody know what that name is? She has another name, called Glitch. After seeing that movie, I made up a dance called ‘The Glitch.’”
The video then jumps to Usher giving a tutorial to the children on how to complete his signature move.
Sovereign is the eldest of the couple’s two children. They also have a son, 3-year-old Sire Castrello. Usher also has two older children, Usher “Cinco” V, 16, and Naviyd Ely, 15, from his previous marriage with his ex-wife, Tameka Foster.
“There is no disconnect when it comes to our children,” explained the father of four earlier this year to LEVEL Man of the blended family.
“They are all brothers and sisters. No steps or halves. And they love each other and protect each other to the best of their abilities. You have to be impeccable with your words. Ever read The Four Agreements? There are these mantras and ideas. It works in many different spaces. I try to be impeccable with my word with the mothers. My wife is my wife; me and my ex-wife have children together. And though we have different homes, I try to implement and do whatever I possibly can in mine and I don’t worry about what I can’t control. I deal with what I can. I’m impeccable with my word, I don’t take things personal, I make no assumptions and I do my best. That’s it.”
