Waka Flocka Flame is facing heavy criticism after a man wearing a T-shirt emblazoned with a swastika — a symbol widely associated with Nazism and anti-Semitism — appeared alongside him onstage during a performance in New Orleans last week.
The incident took place on Friday, May 2, at Ohm Lounge, a nightclub located in the heart of New Orleans’ nightlife district.
In the days since, footage and photos of the man, believed by some to be part of the rapper’s entourage, has circulated across social media platforms, sparking widespread outrage.

The backlash began when a Reddit user posted a short video of the performance, showing the man clearly displaying the offensive symbol on the back of his shirt.
“So my cousin goes to school down in NOLA and went to a Waka Flocka set at Ohm Lounge last night… this was the back of one of his friends/crew member’s shirt. Literally appalled,” the Reddit user wrote.
Reactions quickly followed on X (formerly Twitter), with several users claiming the man is a local hip-hop artist based in New Orleans.

Despite the intense online criticism, representatives for Waka Flocka Flame, Ohm Lounge, and the New Orleans Police Department have not responded to media inquiries.
In response to the growing controversy, Ohm Lounge issued a statement via Instagram acknowledging the incident and vowing to implement stricter protocols moving forward.
“We regret that this occurred within our space and are taking immediate action to ensure it does not happen again,” the club’s ownership and management wrote.

They added: “The front of the shirt appears to reference political conflict and may have been meant as a form of satire. However, no explanation has been provided, and regardless of the message or purpose, wearing such a symbol in any context is deeply offensive and completely unacceptable.”
Despite the club’s claims that they were unaware of the situation until after the event, several individuals who attended the show have publicly disputed that account. According to eyewitnesses, Ohm Lounge’s owner, Billy Blatty, was present during the performance and saw the man wearing the swastika shirt, but failed to act.
Those in attendance also accused Waka of threatening to have patrons removed from the venue if they continued to boo and heckle him due to the swastika-wearing man’s presence.
