Nigerian superstar Wizkid has emerged as Africa’s highest-earning artist on Spotify, according to recent figures released by the music statistics platform, Chart Masters.

With monthly earnings of $1 million, the “Essence” coroner surpassed his peers, solidifying his place as the continent’s top music streaming earner.

The list, which highlights the earnings of global artists on Spotify, shows a strong dominance by Nigerian musicians, with Wizkid leading the charge.

Following closely behind him is Burna Boy, who earned $782,148, while fellow Nigerian artist Tems secured the third spot with $660,210.

South African artist Tyla is the only non-Nigerian in the top ten, ranking fourth with earnings of $607,804.

Other prominent Nigerian artists featured in the list include Davido ($458,615), Asake ($451,553), Omah Lay ($421,123), and Ayra Starr ($400,972).

Rema rounds out the top ten with earnings of $367,973.

Globally, Canadian rapper Drake and American pop sensation Taylor Swift are Spotify’s top earners, raking in $7.7 million each per month.
