Cassper Nyovest has announced that his Firth studio album, Sweet and Short has been certified Platinum by the Recording Industry of South Africa. This means that the Kwaito album has moved more than 30,000 units.
Sweet and Short being certified platinum in 2 days is a remarkable achievement considering the rapper has had to wait for months for his previous album to achieve same feat.
Despite the album’s commercial success, which is largely due to fact that it was handed out for free, the album was met with a mixed reaction especially from the rapper’s hip hop fans. Many argued the album doesn’t represent what Cassper is famed for and is also heavily auto tuned.
Cassper was one of the many global stars that performed at the Global Citizen Fest in Johannesburg on Sunday.
