The Reason why Waje wants to quit Music

There’s a video of singer Waje that’s trending on social media and that video has given us reasons to pause and reflect on the illusions of the Nigerian music industry.

In the video, the singer and mum of one is talking about how expensive it is to make music and promote music in Nigeria.

“I don’t have money for publicity, I want to quit,” she says in the video.

It’s such a raw and vulnerable moment. The singer speaks passionately and boldly about how much effort she has poured into her music craft and how the gains have been less than expected and far in-between. She talks about her passion for music and trying to balance her finances.

It’s truly a rare glimpse into what music stars in the Nigerian music industry go through – beyond the glitz and glam of social media.

Watch the video below.

Travis Scott Slapped With A Lawsuit

Rapper Travis Scott is reportedly facing lawsuit posted by a PJAM promoter who is accusing him of cancelling a scheduled weekend show last year and not paying the money which the promoter paid the rapper in advance of the show.

PJAM says Scott canceled at the last minute and caused “reputational harm.” Travis counter-sued and accused PJAM of never confirming his travel plans. He also claims they didn’t have enough money to cover his expenses.

The case is set to head to trial later this year. PJAM is seeking $150,000 plus damages.

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Travis is seeking to dismiss any other concert cancellations during his career from being used as evidence in his dispute with PJAM.

Kelly Khumalo might have had a stinging experience over the weekend, while performing at the EFF political party rally in Chatsworth.

The singer was vibing positively until her eyes caught a placard calling for justice for Senzo Meyiwa and the crowd chanting Senzo’s name might have triggered her walking off the stage.

Kelly and the Bafana Bafana star, Senzo Meyiwa were in a relationship before he was shot dead on the 26th of October, 2014 and Kelly has being blamed by some peeps to be the murderer, however, she’s came out clean after investigations.

Justice for Senzo is still chanted on a daily basis and Kelly also seeks the killer.
