Tekashi 6ix9ine returned to court Monday morning (Nov. 26) and pled not guilty to federal R.I.C.O charges according to TMZ.
Tekashi, real name, Daniel Hernandez, has been behind bars since Nov. 18 and may stay in prison until his trial date, which has been set for Sept. 4, 2019. The issue of his bail was not discussed during Monday’s hearing. Tekashi was denied bail even after offering to pay $750K, surrendering his passport, and agreeing to remain on house arrest.
Tekashi and his former manager Shottie and another associate were arrested on a slew of charges including drug deals, armed robberies, and shootings. According to reports, it’s believed Tekahsi committed armed robbery on April 3.
An indictment obtained by TMZ also mentions an April 12 shooting at the Barclay Center in Brooklyn and identified the shooter. The 17 indictments go as far back as 2013.
“We don’t fold, we don’t bend, we don’t break. It’s Tr3yway,” the Brooklyn rapper’s former manager and now co-defendant, Shotti reportedly said to the judge.
Following Tekashi’s arrest on Nov. 18 by ATF agents and members of Homeland Security he was reportedly transferred from Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center to a new federal facility.
If found guilty, Tekashi faces 32 years in prison.
