Former Liverpool midfielder, Danny Murphy has urged Chelsea winger, Callum Hudson-Odoi to leave Stamford and join Bayern Munich in a £35million deal this January transfer window.
Hudson-Odoi, 18, has been strongly linked with a move to Bayern.
The England youngster has less than 18 months left on his current deal with Chelsea.
But Murphy believes Hudson-Odoi is technically gifted and the player should leave Chelsea for Bayern if he wants to have more playing time.
“To be at that age and to even be a first team squad at Chelsea with so many super players is credit to him [Hudson-Odoi],” Murphy told The Debate on Sky Sport.
“I liked his confidence – I remember one bit where he did a bit of skill on his weaker foot and smash one into the top corner.
“He plays with that belief, I love that in young players. Athletically very good and technically gifted.
“I hope that his refusal of signing a new contract at Chelsea is based on a want to play more football. I really hope that.
“Yes, I would say he has to leave.”
