Young Scooter‘s offical cause of death has been revealed and has been ruled as an accident.
According to an autopsy, the Atlanta rapper, born Kenneth Edward Bailey, died as a result of suffering a “penetrating injury of the right thigh.” The wound was reportedly sustained while on a “brief foot-chase” from local police and was ruled as being self-inflicted.
“Mr. Bailey sustained a penetrating injury of his right thigh that created marked blood loss,” the medical examiner stated in the release, adding that the rapper hurt himself after “vaulting at least one fence” during the chase.

The medical examiner also refuted speculation that Young Scooter’s death had been the result of being shot by police during the chase, and that his leg wound was caused by “organic (wooden) fencing material and/or woody debris.”
The Atlanta Police Department also addressed the claims of Young Scooter being shot, calling the reports “inaccurate” while blasting those on social media for spreading false information.
“While we understand that many people are saddened by his passing, it is important to recognize that Atlanta police officers neither discharged their firearms nor used any force against Mr. Bailey,” police said.

On Friday (March 28), Young Scooter is said to have been at home celebrating his 39th birthday with a friend when police arrived at the residence in response to a 911 call about a young woman being “beaten bloody” and held captive by Young Scooter and several other men.
However, it was later determined that the report of the assault, as well as other elements of the caller’s story, was fabricated, leading to authorities to publicly seek out information regarding their identity.
On Tuesday (April 1), police arrested Demetria Spence, known as Demi Blanco, and charged the 31-year-old with “Transmitting a False Public Alarm” in relation to the incident.

“Ms. Spence was wanted for her involvement in making a false 911 call regarding a person injured/deceased incident that occurred at 273 William Nye Drive SE on March 28th, 2025. Ms. Spence was transported to the Fulton County Jail for processing,” the release update stated.
Best known for her appearance on the Zeus Network show Baddies, Demi Blanco publicly admitted to making the police call and justified her false report by accusing Young Scooter of having physically assaulted her in the past.
The reality TV contestant’s defense has received mixed reactions, with some sympathizing with her story of domestic violence, while others have voiced their skepticism regarding her claims and continue to blame her for causing Young Scooter’s death.
