  • Today, the entire Edochie clan and beyond should have been celebrating the 18th birthday of Kambilichukwu, the precious son of Yul and May Edochie, a milestone that was stolen away by the ruthless grip of death.
  • Yul, a father drowning in sorrow, immerses himself in a painful reflection of the void left by his son’s absence

Yul Edochie, the renowned Nigerian filmmaker and actor, recently took to his social media to honor and reflect on the loving memory of his late son, Kambilichukwu, as he would have celebrated his 18th birthday today, January 4, 2025.

Though over two years have passed since the heart-wrenching loss, Yul remains overwhelmed by the emptiness left in his life, and his pain is as fresh as ever.

In an emotional post on his official Facebook page, he poured out his grief, made it clear just how deeply he misses his son—an irreplaceable part of his world.

The actor, in his heartfelt message, found himself drifting into a reverie about how Kambi might be faring in the afterlife. He fantasized about his son now being in a peaceful realm, living joyfully beyond the reach of the world’s pains.

Yul, overwhelmed with emotions, asked Kambi to keep watching over their family from above. He vowed that Kambi would forever remain in his heart, no matter the time or distance.

He wrote;

Happy 18th birthday, son, Kambi Yul-Edochie.

“Hope you’re doing well over there, flying with the angels and playing basketball and football.

“I miss you so much, Keep watching over your family, Till we meet again. Forever in my heart, Love you, son.”
