As always Yung Beathoven has been pumping out singles over the last month like the pure machine that he is and we’re here to soak it all up.
Having released three separate tracks and videos, the emo-pop songwriter is pulling no punches this time around, thoughtfully addressing the dreams and struggles of a committed artist such as himself.
Deeply reflective yet simultaneously radiant and uplifting, each track is a cohesive reinterpretation of Yung Beathoven’s unique style, driving home a blend of hyperpop, emo punk and hip-hop that’s strongly reminiscent of Travis Barker, Machine Gun Kelly, Kenny Hoopla and the likes.
First single “MOVE ALONG” featuring SKTLZZ centres around upbeat drums and an emotive chorus hook that is almost child-like in its sweet simplicity. True to style, the accompanying music video is a distinctly animated visual directed by animator.boi that brings imagery to the song’s overarching narrative – a hopeful muso navigating the ups and downs of making a career out of music.

“EVERY MOMENT” is starkly similar in almost every way, from the sound of the guitars to the vocal treatment and the music video, such that it feels somewhat superfluous, even if it is a charming elaboration of Beathoven’s already well-established persona.
Finally, “RUNAWAY”, featuring Zubin takes on a slightly more acoustic tone that’s all about the desire to seek out the life you’ve always dreamed of. A groovy bassline and subtle licks of grunge make for a more diverse sound, although I still can’t shake the overwhelming feeling that Yung Beathoven needs to change things up.

We’ve seen him perfect his formula in recent times, and while fans will surely lap these tracks up in all their feel-good pop splendour, the time will soon come for Yung Beathoven to reinvent himself, and bring listeners something new. He has it in him to surprise us, he just needs to take the leap of faith.
