Since joining Mavin, Johnny has learnt that fame doesn’t happen overnight and praised his label boss, Don Jazzy, for giving his artistes the freedom to explore and refine their sound.

“Don Jazzy taught me consistency and patience. You have to build brick by brick.” He says.

Speaking on his most emotional moment, Johnny Drille recalled that while touring in Manchester, a couple approached him backstage, crying.

Their son with autism had been deeply touched by his music. Johnny said, “that moment was so special. It reminded me that music travels far and deep.”

Raised in a strict Christian home, with his dad being a pastor and principal, Church music shaped his early years, and he started singing in church at 11.

Unlike many celebs, Johnny likes to keep it low-key and he shared why. He says:

“Some parts of life are sacred. I share what I’m comfortable with, but I keep my family grounded.”

Johnny Drille recalled his craziest fan moment ever, was when a female fan once tried to sneak into his hotel room at 3 a.m.
