Nigerian comedian Onyebuchi Ojieh, popularly known as Buchi, has finally reunited with his daughter in what fans are calling a tearjerking moment. This comes nearly two years after he publicly accused his ex-wife and in-laws of denying him access to his children.
In a touching video shared on his Instagram page, Buchi’s daughter is seen running into his arms before the two share a tight, emotional hug.
“Grateful everyday… truly blessed. My baby came all the way from the U.S by herself to see me in Canada,” he wrote in the caption, alongside red heart emojis.
The heartfelt reunion comes after a very public custody battle between Buchi and his ex wife, Rukky, whom he married in 2017. The couple share two children together and reportedly split in 2022.
Back in November 2023, comedian Buchi made headlines after calling out his estranged wife, Rukky and her parents, accusing them of blocking his access to their kids and even demanding money for phone calls.
“They are asking for $1,300 to allow phone conversations,” he wrote at the time. “They should manage the ₦300,000 I send monthly.”
He also claimed that the children were taken abroad without his consent and maintained he had never been abusive or violent.
However, by December of 2023, things began to shift positively, and he shared an update with fans:
“I have been granted full access to my kids… we better in all things… THANK YOU EVERYONE!!”
This latest reunion video is the first time fans are seeing him with his daughter since the drama unfolded and the comment section has been flooded with love, prayers, and congratulations.
While there’s no word yet on when he’ll see his second child, fans are very hopeful that this emotional reunion is just the beginning of better days for the comedian and his kids.
