Femi Adebayo’s Jagun Jagun wins big, Kanayo O Kanayo snags lifetime award, others

  • Femi Adebayo’s epic movie Jagun Jagun bagged the highest number of awards, while veteran actor Kanayo received a Lifetime Achievement Award.
  • Although Odunlade Adekola was absent, his movie, Orisa, as well as actress Mercy Aigbe, were among those recognized.

The Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards for 2024 took place on Sunday night, November 24, in Ilorin, Kwara state, and was attended by some of the movie industry’s most popular faces.

Femi Adebayo, Ayo Mogaji, Mercy Aigbe and her husband, Kanayo O Kanayo, Muka Ray, and Tope Adebayo, among others, attended the event. Kwara state governor Alhaji AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq also graced the event.

The Governor presented veteran actor, Kanayo O Kanayo a lifetime achievement award. The actor who shared the exciting news to his fans wrote:

“I was conferred with a Special Recognition Award, ( Lifetime Achievement Award) At the BEST OF NOLLYWOOD AWRDS, 2024, for my contributions to the growth of the Entertainment industry in Africa, presented by His Excellency, Alhaji AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, Executive Governor, Kwara State.”

A historical thriller movie, “Jagun Jagun” by award-winning Nollywood actor, Femi Adebayo was the biggest winner at the 2024 Best of Nollywood Awards (BON).

The epic Netflix Original Yoruba movie won six categories of the 12 nominations including Best Indigenous Film, Best Actor, Best, Production Design, Best Special Effect, Best Costume, and Director of the Year.

The 16th edition of the BON Awards was hosted by Toyin Abraham at the Sugar Factory Film Studios.
