Lizzo has finally sat down to address shocking sexual harassment lawsuits filed against her by her former dancers in 2023.

In a new episode of Keke Palmer’s podcast Baby, This Is Keke Palmer, the Grammy-winning hitmaker opened up about feeling “blindsided” by the accusations—given her “appreciation” and “deep respect” for the individuals involved.

“I was literally living in my dream, and then the tour ended, and three ex-dancers just completely, like, blindsided me with a lawsuit,” Lizzo shared while adding, “I was very deeply hurt because these were three ex-dancers, so they weren’t on the tour. They didn’t finish the tour out with us. But even regardless of that, these were people that I gave opportunities to.”

Noting the power of social media, she continued, “I liked them and appreciated them as dancers, respected them as dancers. So I was like, what? But then I heard all the other things like sexual harassment, and I was like, they’re trying well, I don’t know what they’re trying to do, but these are the types of things that the media can turn into something that it’s not.”

Despite the allegations, Lizzo has maintained her innocence, asserting, “I did nothing wrong.”

The lawsuits were first filed in August 2023 by dancers Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez, who accused Lizzo and her company Big Grrrl Big Touring of creating a hostile work environment.

The dancers noted allegations of sexual harassment, weight-shaming, and physical threats. A month later, former stylist Asha Daniels added her voice to the ongoing allegations, filing her own lawsuit claiming racial and sexual harassment, unpaid overtime, and a toxic workplace culture.

However, in December 2024, a California judge partially dismissed some of Daniels’ claims, citing “insufficient evidence” and noting that certain incidents occurred outside U.S. jurisdiction while the tour was in Europe.

While Lizzo is determined to clear her name, she still remains a defendant in the lawsuit while it continues to be reviewed by the court of appeals.
