“Mayibabo” Vocalist Itumeleng Bokaba Withdraws R*pe Case Against Nota. In an unexpected turn of events, Itumeleng Bokaba, the vocalist behind Kwesta’s hit song “Mayibabo”, has withdrawn the rape case she had previously filed against music mogul Nota Baloyi. The decision comes as Bokaba embarks on an exciting new chapter in her career and personal life, which she feels demands her full attention and positive energy.

In a heartfelt statement shared with her supporters, Bokaba expressed her gratitude for the overwhelming support she has received throughout the ongoing legal matter. She revealed that she has recently been presented with an incredible career opportunity, one she believes is aligned with her true purpose. This opportunity, she shared, will require her complete focus, dedication, and mental clarity to ensure she can give it her best.

“For this reason, I have decided to withdraw my case at this time to focus fully on this exciting new chapter,” Bokaba wrote. “However, this does not mean that the case has been dismissed or that my experience is invalid. I remain firm in my truth and will revisit the case at a later stage when I am in a better position to do so.”

Bokaba’s decision comes months after she publicly accused Nota of withholding royalties from her contribution to Kwesta’s hit track “Mayibabo.” Last year, Bokaba revealed that she had only received a mere 59 cents for her involvement in the song, sparking controversy surrounding the treatment of artists in the industry. This led to the opening of the rape case against Nota, which she has now chosen to step back from for the time being.

Nota, who was Kwesta’s manager at the time, has always maintained that any interactions between him and Bokaba were consensual, claiming that it was Bokaba who had initiated the exchange.

Despite stepping away from the legal battle, for now, Bokaba remains firm in her resolve. Her statement emphasized that this is simply a pause, not a retreat. “Right now, I welcome everyone to join me in this new season of my life. I am excited, grateful, and ready to step into the work God has placed in front of me,” she shared, signalling a fresh start for the artist.
