Will Smith had a steamy performance with singer India Martinez, and fans have questions. During the Premio Lo Nuestro awards show in Miami on Sunday (Feb. 23), Martinez brought out Will Smith to perform their duet, “First Love,” for the first time.
The Spanish native uploaded an Instagram video of their intimate performance, showing Smith and Martinez locked in a moment of heated passion. The 39-year-old can be seen pulling the 56-year-old closer to her, wrapping her arm around his neck, before almost kissing one another. Fans immediately reacted to the moment, calling out Will’s age, questioning who India is, and wondering where Jada Pinkett-Smith was during the sultry number.
“I was waiting for Jada to come out from left stage and smack the sh!t outta her for kissing her man,” one user typed in the comments. “He wanted to touch her so bad when she got close to him, but he held back and pulled his arms back lol,” another netizen pointed out. “Inappropriate. Even if it is ‘entertainment,’” an account owned by what appears to be a Black man on IG. “Nah, Will, we not feeling this, go home and be with your wife, you too old to be out here doing this with random women,” a subsequent account claimed.
Things took a more aggressive, slightly darker turn on X/Twitter, with people declaring that Smith was finally getting back at Jada for her “entanglement” arc. “Will Smith was publicly humiliated by Jada for years, she cheated, emasculated him, and aired their dirty laundry for clout. Now that he finally shows some masculinity, people are outraged? The real problem is a society that celebrates female disrespect but attacks a man for reclaiming his pride,” one user typed for some reason.
“Getting his swagger back is so important. Especially if ur in an abusive relationship,” another account chimed in. “Will Smith is a man who can do whatever he wants. His wife cheated on him with his son’s friend. Anyone who has issues with Will Smith is an idiot. This is the first thing he did that I respected lol,” someone else asserted.
Jada Pinkett-Smith has yet to respond to her husband’s viral moment. Will Smith hasn’t addressed the reactions to the video either. In fact, he and Martinez are keeping the single’s campaign going on TikTok.
