A$AP Mob member A$AP Twelvyy has refused to speak with the prosecution ahead of his potential testimony in rapper A$AP Rocky‘s assault trial.
On Tuesday (Jan. 28), A$AP Twelvyy appeared in Los Angeles County Courthouse, where the trial stemming from Rocky’s alleged shooting of A$AP Mob member A$AP Relli is being held.
During the proceedings, Superior Court Judge Mark Arnold notified A$AP Twelvyy that the prosecution had requested to “interview” him regarding his testimony before potentially taking the stand.

Upon being told that the interview was not mandatory, the New York native declined to participate, prompting the judge to explain how his decision could negatively impact his credibility in the eyes of the jury.
“Prosecution would like the opportunity to interview you before you take a stand, just to find out what you have to offer and what you have to say. It’s optional; you can either agree to be interviewed or refuse. Are you aware of this?” Arnold asked Twelvyy, who confirmed his understanding of the circumstances.

Rocky is accused of shooting A$AP Relli in November 2021 over a dispute between the two that boiled during an encounter in Los Angeles.
According to Joe Tacopina, Rocky’s attorney, the rapper was carrying a prop gun at the time of the incident and has maintained his innocence, entering a plea of not guilty.
“Despite his ability to do so legally, he didn’t want to carry a real gun for fear that he would either injure someone or himself,” Tacopina said

The Harlem rapper’s trial has gained increased media attention due to the looming presence of Rihanna, the mother of Rocky’s two children, RZA and Riot, who is expected to appear during the proceedings in support of her beau.

That said, the plaintiff and defendants’ attorneys were advised to not comment to the media regarding the trial, a request that bordered on a demand from Judge Arnold.
“I don’t want any attorney saying anything to the press while the case is going on,” the judge said during the proceedings, a quote many felt was aimed at the often outspoken Tacopina. “That’s it. You can call it a gag order.”
