Jamie Foxx Directly Addresses Rumor That Diddy “Tried To Kill” Him

Jamie Foxx is silencing rumors surrounding his April 2023 hospitalization in the best way he knows how: through comedy.

The 56-year-old’s latest standup special Jamie Foxx: What Had Happened Was…debuted on Netflix on Tuesday (Dec. 10) exploring conspiracies around his health scare, including one that claimed Sean “Diddy” Combs attempted to kill him.

“The internet was trying to kill me, though. The internet said Puffy tried to kill me. I know what you’re thinking, did he?” he quipped as the audience erupted in laughter. “Hell, nah ni**a, I left those parties early. I was out by 9 ni**a, something don’t look right ni**a. it’s slippery in here.”

The theories that the disgraced Hip-Hop mogul attempted to kill Fox began to circulate earlier this year after the taping of the special, with a source close to the live event allegedly claiming Foxx asserted the rumor as fact on stage. Combs’ team labeled the claims as “outlandish, ridiculous, and baseless.” 

Elsewhere in What Had Happened Was… Foxx revealed “we still don’t know exactly what happened to me,” regarding the hospitalization. The Just Mercy actor was diagnosed with a brain bleed that resulted in a stroke.

“April 11, I was having a bad headache and I asked my boy for an aspirin. And I realized quickly that when you’re in a medical emergency, your boys don’t know what the f**k to do,” he quipped. “Before I could get the aspirin, I went out. I don’t remember 20 days.”
