Quando Rondo received a five-year prison bid after appearing in court to face the consequences of his involvement in drug-related criminal activity.

On Wednesday (Dec. 11), the 25-year-old artist, whose real name is Tyquian Terrel Bowman, was sentenced after pleading guilty earlier this year to charges of drug conspiracy and participation in criminal street gang activity.

Quando Rondo had been embroiled in a federal case stemming from his alleged involvement in a drug trafficking operation. In late 2023, after securing a $100K bond and being placed under house arrest, he opted for a plea deal, reducing his potential sentence significantly.

While originally facing up to 20 years in prison, the rapper’s sentence was capped at five years as part of the deal. However, he will serve at least 33 months behind bars, followed by three years of supervised release.

Additionally, he is required to pay a $40K fine, undergo regular drug testing, avoid any contact with gang members, and seek mental health treatment.

The defense team had hoped for a sentence of 24 months, while the prosecution pushed for 37 months. The judge ultimately decided on the 33-month term, with the rapper expected to report to prison by January 10, 2025.

During the proceedings, Quando Rondo acknowledged his wrongdoings, stating, “I did the wrong thing, and I’m getting punished for it.” Despite the challenging road ahead, he expressed his belief that time behind bars would offer him the chance to grow and reflect.

The rapper took the opportunity to apologize and express regret for the stress his actions caused his family, friends, and most of all, his daughters. “I wanna give an apology to the city of Savannah… and to all my loved ones,” he added.

With his future uncertain, Quando Rondo appears determined to use his sentence as an opportunity for personal redemption.

“As crazy as it sounds, that’s enough time to really sit down, rehabilitate myself, and come up with better plans for my family and friends,” he said.
