Tommy Richman put in his early bid for “song of the summer” with his latest single “ACTIN UP.” Although the track was released at the top of February, the Virginia artist repackaged it today (April 18) with a new guest appearance from Sexyy Red and treated fans to a raunchy accompanying music video.
When it came time to consider a remix, Richman said the St. Louis hitmaker was at the top of his list. “When I made ‘ACTIN UP’ I originally thought of Sexyy in the first place. An anthem for a rebel,“ says Tommy via press release.
Directed by Bobby Banks and produced by Morgana Yasmeen, the visual takes the duo to Miami where they throw a party in the streets, dance on each other, and stayed on brand with a candy red sports car at the center of the action. Sexyy did what she does best as she added her signature flow to the record, rapping, “Bend it over, shake that a**, show that print (Ooh)/ Clean a** b**ch, smell good, I ain’t got no scent (No)/ Err’body lookin’, I’m the baddest in this b**ch (Yeah)/ Got some booty shorts on, coochie fat, I’m feelin’ thick.” Watch the music video below.
The unexpected pairing raked in a plethora of reactions, with the top comment on YouTube reading, “Proof of the multiverse.” Others on Instagram hyped up the collab, with one reply reading, “love when she say ITS SEXY!” and another person writing, “This finna go crazy in the club.”
Tommy Richman began releasing music in 2016 and shared EPs like The Rush and Paycheck. His popularity soared in 2023 after signing to Brent Faiyaz’s label ISO Supremacy and Pulse Records, subsequently opening for Faiyaz on tour. In 2024, he dropped his breakout hit “MILLION DOLLAR BABY,” which took over and peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and garnered over a billion Spotify plays since its release.
